About the Galt Sportsmens Club

The club was founded in 1954, holding it's first meeting on the second floor of Galt City Hall. The old Dixon Dairy Stables in Galt served as the Clubs' indoor range. In 1957 the Club purchased the Grimer farm, a 100 acre site with a pond and a stream located on Gore Rd. Since then, another 150 acres have been added.

There have been many changes over the past years. The Club has always maintained a strong core of membership dedicated to sport shooting. We now have some of the finest equipment and facilities available, becoming one of the best sport shooting ranges in North America. We have hosted many major events over the years.

As of 1999 we have 8 sections within the club. All of these sections are run under an executive which come together to form the main club executive.

The Galt Sportsmen's Club is dedicated to serving its members and is heavily dependent on its membership to maintain and run the facilities. In addition to enjoying our superb facilities, our members volunteer some of their time to help where they can. This has made our club as strong as it is today.
